opportunities, industry-recognized credentials, and meaningful work-based learning experiences in the high-demand sector of IT. The starting salary range for this role is $113,839- $125,821. This is a full-time, fully on-site role based at Legacy College Prep.

About the RoleKIPP DC Legacy College Preparatory is seeking a passionate and strategic NAF Academy Director to lead and manage its Information Technology NAF Academy in alignment with the NAF model and OSSE CTE model. The NAF Director will also provide instructional coaching and professional development to NAF Academy teachers to ensure the highest quality of teaching and learning in all NAF courses. The NAF Director also serves as a liaison between KIPP DC and OSSE’s Industry Engagement Team, ensuring compliance with all CTE requirements and expansion of high-quality work-based learning opportunities.
In a Director role, this position must also ensure adherence to established internal control policies and procedures and maintain compliance within the organization. Location and Type of WorkAs a headquarters team that is focused on being responsive to our schools and meeting the needs of our students and families, we approach our work in a way that reflects these priorities. Schools operate in person and our students and families rely on us for in-person support which requires this position to be fully onsite. This role is currently required to be onsite or in schools during regular work hours. This is an exempt position and will report to the Principal at KIPP DC Legacy College Prep. ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Program Management - 15%
- Lead the vision, strategy, and daily operations of the NAF Academy to align with NAF standards, OSSE’s CTE standards and model, and KIPP DC’s college and career readiness goals
Collaborate with school leadership and teachers to integrate career-focused curricula and ensure alignment with CTE academic standards
- Monitor student progress, program effectiveness, and academy benchmarks; make data-driven decisions to improve outcomes
- Maintain compliance with all OSSE reporting, documentation, and program quality requirements, including course sequences, certifications, and work-based learning milestones
- Actively engage with OSSE’s Industry Engagement Team and other CTE partners to align programming with regional workforce needs and best practices
Industry & Community Partnerships - 15%
- Cultivate and manage partnerships with internship or job employers, industry professionals, higher education institutions, nonprofit organizations, etc. to secure internships, mentorships, apprenticeships, and professionals for work-based learning events
- Work in conjunction with the OSSE Industry Engagement team and the Industry Advisory Board to support academy goals and CTE goals and expand student access to internships, site visits, professionals, etc.
- Collaborate with the CTE Industry Advisory Board to support work-based learning programming goals
Work-Based Learning Coordination - 30%
- Design and implement a program of work-based learning experiences that covers the work-based learning continuum and is aligned with OSSE’s work-based learning framework across all NAF grade-levels
- Monitor student progress in internship placements
- Monitor work-based learning opportunities to ensure that all work-based learning opportunities meet OSSE and NAF documentation and quality standards
- Support students in securing and successfully completing all internships
- Maintain compliance with NAF internship documentation and evaluation requirements (e.g., WBL Tracker)
Instructional Coaching & Teacher Support
- Provide instructional coaching, feedback, and support to NAF academy teachers to strengthen pedagogy, curriculum delivery, and student outcomes aligned with CTE standards and industry certifications
- Support implementation of industry-relevant, project-based learning that aligns with NAF standards and OSSE CTE course expectations
- Plan and coordinate/facilitate professional development that enhances teachers' content expertise and/or instructional effectiveness
KIPP DC Legacy Leadership Support - 30%
- Actively participate in weekly leadership meetings to support the execution of school goals and strategies
- Support all school initiatives
- Complete all assigned KIPP DC Legacy leadership duties
- Other duties as assigned
Student Recruitment & Retention - 10%
- Lead equitable recruitment and enrollment efforts to maintain a strong and diverse student cohort in the NAF Academy pathway
- Lead efforts to retain students in the NAF Academy pathway, ensuring equitable access for all
- Promote the academy internally and externally to highlight student achievements and program impact
Requirements & PreferencesRequired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (minimum required)
- At least 4 years of lead teaching experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 4 years of high school leadership experience (Instructional Coach or Grade Level Chair)
- Master’s degree in Education, Public Administration, or related field preferred

- KIPP DC also offers a 403(b) retirement account with a 3% employer contribution and a 3% match with vesting after three years.
- Currently, individuals in this role have up to 10 paid sick days, 12 paid holidays, paid Thanksgiving week break, winter break, spring break, and summer break. This is subject to change and your exact schedule will be shared in your offer letter.
