POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Campus Support Manager will be based at one of KIPP DC’s high school campuses and will provide administrative and logistical support related to campus operations, including, but not limited to, Cleaning/Facilities, Finance, Meal Program, and Safety. This position is a part of the  campus operations team that is led by the Campus Director of Operations and includes a Manager of Safety Operations, a Campus Support Associate, a lunch administrator, and an office manager. This role demands flexibility, tenacity, team orientation, and a willingness to do whatever it takes to support the students, teachers, school leaders, and other staff at the campus. The Campus Support Manager reports to the Campus Director of Operations. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Operations Management

The Campus Support Manager will assist with one or more of the following workstreams:

  • Cleaning/Facilities Management
    • Indirectly manage the cleaning vendor staff, utility porter, and engineer
    • Ensure the school building is clean and well-maintained
    • Address cleaning and facilities concerns as they arise, and escalate as needed
  • Meal Program
    • Directly manage Lunch Administrator (LA) and indirectly manage meal program vendor staff
    • Ensure meal program compliance as well as the timeliness and accuracy of meal delivery
    • Address lunch admin, vendor staff, and meal program concerns as they arise, and escalate, as needed
  • Finance
    • Collaborate with the school team to receive receipts by deadlines
    • Manage electronic and physical receipt organization and upload to budget management platforms
    • Support with processing outgoing payments to field trip vendors, outside event spaces, and other service providers
    • Accurately code purchases done by the campus’ instructional and operations team
    • Track and maintain the procurement process from order to arrival spreadsheets and other management systems
    • Provide support for cash deposits
    • Communicate with the Finance team when issues arise
  • People Management
    • Directly manage Campus Support Associate (CSA), Office Manager (OM), and/or Lunch Administrator (LA), as per campus need
    • Indirectly manage cleaning, facilities, and/or meal program staff, as per campus need
    • Manage and provide logistical support for evening and weekend events held on campus
    • Present and train operational initiatives to the school staff
  • Other
    • School Compliance (Student Health & Athletics)
      • Collaborate with the compliance manager to ensure the nurse suite holds the appropriate equipment and tools
      • Support the athletics team in procuring compliant supplies and emergency response procedures
    • Community Engagement
      • Engage with the community regarding special events or requests (i.e. one-way traffic, speed bumps, emergency shelters, etc.)
      • Support Campus Director of Operations to collaborate with the Metropolitan Police Department and other agencies as needed (including but not limited to attending advisory neighborhood commission meetings) to represent and protect the KIPP DC campus community
    • Special Projects
      • Collaborate with the instructional team on school-wide initiatives
      • Support and/or oversee ongoing campus system and process enhancement
      • Examples of special projects include, but are not limited to:
        • Field trips
        • Senior activities 
        • Onboarding and training new operations team members
        • KIPP DC network-wide initiatives, including, but not limited to testing, enrollment, immunizations, and meal distributions.


ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or at least 3 years of relevant finance and operations experience
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a school operations setting 
  • At least 1-3 years of people management experience
  • Dedication to KIPP DC’s mission 
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to work on select nights and weekends
  • Team player and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done 
  • Proficient in Google Work Space (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, and Gmail)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

KIPP DC offers an extremely competitive compensation and benefits package:

  • The anticipated starting salary for this position is $71,615-$85,256. At KIPP DC we strive for clarity, equity, and to be highly competitive. When determining salaries we look at benchmarks in the education and non-profit sector.  
  • KIPP DC offers a robust benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurances; various voluntary benefits; and employer paid benefits such as short term disability, long term disability, life insurance, and a membership to One Medical.
  • KIPP DC also offers a 403(b) retirement account with a 3% employer contribution and a 3% match with vesting after three years.
  • Currently, individuals in this role have up to 15 paid time off days, up to 10 paid sick days, and 12 paid holidays. This is subject to change and your exact schedule will be shared in your offer letter.
  • As a headquarters team that is focused on being responsive to our schools and meeting the needs of our students and families, we approach our work in a way that reflects these priorities. Schools operate in person and our students and families rely on us for in-person support which requires this position to be fully on-site. This role is currently required to be on-site or in schools during regular work hours.
