Job Summary

The Manager of Enrichment role is an integral part of the academic team, ensuring that KIPP DC delivers on the promise to provide students with joyful, productive learning and enrichment during out of school time. The starting salary range for this role is $78,436-$85,256. This is a full time, fully onsite role based at HDQ with an anticipated start date of February 2026.

About the Role
The Manager of Enrichment is responsible for creating new partnerships and cultivating existing relationships to build, improve, and sustain program offerings to KIPP DC students and their families year-round. The Manager of  Enrichment is a highly collaborative role that also requires work across teams, schools, and external partnership streams to design, implement, and evaluate programs and services to generate the highest-quality learning experiences for students.

Location and Type of Work
This is an exempt position and will report to the Managing Director of Extended Learning & Enrichment. As a headquarters team that is focused on being responsive to our schools and meeting the needs of our students and families, we approach our work in a way that reflects these priorities. Schools operate in person and our students and families rely on us for in-person support which requires this position to be fully on-site. This role is currently required to be on-site or in schools during regular work hours.

Responsibilities
The percentages for each key responsibility are estimates, and other duties may be assigned. Flexibility and responsiveness are encouraged to accommodate organizational needs.
 

Program Management & Prioritization of School-based Enrichment Programming (40%) 

  • Maintain strategic partnerships to ensure schools have diverse programs and services to meet the needs of KIPP DC students and their families. 
  • Manages the implementation of out-of-school-time enrichment programs for all 22 schools and programs 
  • Implement, and evaluate each program throughout the year 
  • Ensure strong communication to stakeholders
  • Manage partnerships to ensure successful relationships and service or program delivery 
  • Share program highlights to promote the engagement in and success of enrichment programs
Program Management & Prioritization of Before care, after care, and summer programming (60%)
  • Collaborate with the Director of Out of School enrichment to plan for on-campus and off-campus options for KIPP DC students for before and aftercare needs. 
  • Support leaders of aftercare and beforecare programs to implement best practices in service delivery 
  • Engage external partners to identify provide complementing off - campus summer opportunities for families. 
  • Manage enrichment components of the summer camps’ operation. 
  • Support recruitment for summer programming and create equitable student selection and enrollment processes
  • Maintain multiple camp programs, day-to-day operations, policies, and procedures to support and monitor existing summer camp partnerships to ensure fruitful relationships that facilitate high-quality and safe environments for students and staff. 
  • Develop and supervise external summer camp leads and internal  coordinators to oversee the day-to-day activities of on-site camp programs. 
  • Share program highlights to promote the engagement in and success of enrichment programs between partners and families or school community members. 


Requirements & Preferences

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience (i.e. program management, enrichment program planning, non-profit program coordination, etc) 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills; work effectively and cultivate relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills and an ability to take initiative, receive feedback, and seek out creative ideas
  • Strong time management skills and a detail and results-oriented team player who is dedicated to getting the job done
  • Successful track record of collaboratively working with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel to and between campuses and our headquarters office, as well as to partner locations in the District, Maryland, Virginia region
